Presented by Iron Oak Canyon Ranch's Animal Care Academy, this segment of our Equine Education series of clinics and classes will focus on the latest techniques in grooming to keep your horse show-ring-ready—or just ready to shine around the barn. While this is a follow-up to Everyday Show Grooming I, students who already have a grasp of grooming basics are not required to take Everyday Show Grooming I in order to take Everyday Show Grooming II.
In this class, you'll build on the principles learned in Everyday Show Grooming I to keep your horse looking sharp every day. Students will learn the basics of safe clipper operation and desense, clipping techniques and patterns, and advanced braiding.
This class will be taught by ranch owner Lessa Ritzma, whose previous career credits include zookeeper and exotic animal trainer, along with over twenty years of horse experience.
This is an audit-only, optional participation class. A live equine will participate in the demonstration portion, with a lecture and Q&A to follow. All participants will qualify for the Equine Education: Everyday Show Grooming I credit for Iron Oak Canyon Ranch's Equine Education certificate.
$50 per participant for 2-hour class. Limit 10 participants. Weather permitting.
